USES OF PERLITE

Once the perlite is expanded and has intrinsic characteristics of excellent insulation and light weight there are a number of potential applications. Expanded perlite can be used in the manufacture of low temperature (cryogenic) and high temperature insulation (formed and loose products), lightweight insulating concrete, lightweight insulating board, lightweight insulating plasters, and wall insulation.

Perlite can also be used as an aggregate in Portland cement and gypsum plasters for exterior applications and for the fire protection of beams and columns. Other construction applications include under-floor insulation, chimney linings, paint texturing, gypsum boards, ceiling tiles, and roof insulation boards.

VERMICULITE

Vermiculite is hydrous, silicate mineral that is classified as a phyllosilicate and that expands greatly when heated. Vermiculite is a safe inert material, light , clean to handle, has a high insulation value, acoustic-insulating properties and will absorp and hold a wide range of liquids.

Exfoliated vermiculite is used in the friction brake linings market, high temperature insulation, fire protection, lightweight concrete, various construction product, animal feed, horticulture , packaging and many others industrial application.
